Report on the First Volunteer Health Camp of Ek Ek Paila
Introduction
Ek Ek Paila initiated its first volunteer health service in Chanaute Sindhupalchok district. The camp was organized in May 2015, immediately after the devastating earthquake. Without any formal institutional support or even a bank account, the program was conducted with the spontaneous participation of dedicated volunteers.
Objective
While various governmental and non-governmental organizations were focused on distributing relief materials to earthquake victims, Ek Ek Paila aimed to address the urgent need for:
Venue
The camp was held at a local resort, serving as a temporary health facility.
Services Provided
A total of 451 patients received medical services, with 686 consultations and treatments carried out. The details are as follows:
Conclusion
The first health camp of Ek Ek Paila marked a significant step in volunteer-based healthcare service delivery. It not only provided immediate medical support during a time of crisis but also laid the foundation for the organization’s ongoing commitment to serving vulnerable communities across Nepal.
